DESIGN THE FOCAL PLANE ASSEMBLY, PERFORM REQUIRED ANALYSES, IDENTIFY ALL LONG LEAD PARTS, AND INITIATE LONG LEAD PROCUREMENTS AS REQUIRED. 4. DESIGN THE INSTRUMENT ENCLOSURES, SHIELD, AND APERTURE, PERFORM REQUIRED ANALYSES, IDENTIFY ALL LONG LEAD ITEMS, AND INITIATE LONG LEAD PROCUREMENTS AS REQUIRED. 5. COMPLETE THE GLASS PRODUCTION FACILITY, PRODUCE THE NUSTAR GLASSES TO VERIFY THE PRODUCTION CAPABILITY. 6. DEVELOP PROTOTYPES FOR THE OPTICS ASSEMBLY, DESIGN THE OPTICS ASSEMBLY AND THE PRODUCTION FACILITY, AND PERFORM REQUIRED ANALYSIS. 7. COMPLETE THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF THE MAST, CANISTER AND INSTRUMENT STRUCTURE, IDENTIFY LONG LEAD PROCUREMENTS. 8.
